Welcome to the website of the County Limerick Beekeepers
Association, which is affilliated to the The Federation of Irish Beekeepers
Assocations.
Our aim is to promote the practice of keeping of bees in a
sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, such that it increases public awareness regarding the many
things about bees, their importance in pollination and to the entire
ecosystem.
Subject matter discussed includes; life in the hive, how bees communicate,
beekeeping equipment, bee seasons, beekeeping problems, forage plants, diseases, honey
harvests as well as the many benefits that one can get from consuming native
honey and other hive products.
The association will hold its meetings on the second Monday
of every month (with the exceptions of the months of December, January, July and
August) in the South Court Hotel in Raheen.
Meetings for the 2012 season will be held at 8.00pm on:

Speaker will be Mr Micheal McGiollaCoda, of Galtee Bee
Breeding Group. He will be talking on the "Conservation and improvement of the
Irish Black Bee"
